Quick answer
The Smoke & Mirrors x Fultons Carbon Limited Gilded V6 is a reimagined borderless edition of the 2012 Carbon Smoke & Mirrors deck, exclusive to a limited six-pack box. It's a must-have for serious Fulton's collectors but not for casual players seeking a standard handling deck.
Why the Carbon Gilded V6 stands out
Originally released in 2012, the Smoke & Mirrors Carbon edition was a fan favorite. For the 15th anniversary, Brad Fulton collaborated to create an entirely new borderless design inspired by antiquated maps and classic typography. The V6 iteration adds a gilded edge, making it a visual centerpiece for any collection.
This deck was only available as part of the Limited Edition Six Pack Box, which adds to its scarcity. If you missed the original drop, finding one now typically means buying from the secondary market or from Fulton's archived products while stock lasts.
What to consider before buying
Because this is an archived product, availability is limited. The catalog price is $40.12 (compared to $59.00), reflecting its original retail value. However, secondary market prices may vary significantly based on condition and demand.
The borderless design and gilded edges mean this deck is more about display and collecting than heavy handling. If you plan to use it for cardistry or magic, expect the finish to wear faster than a standard bordered deck.
Decision rules for the Carbon Gilded V6
- Collector status: If you are a dedicated Fulton's or Smoke & Mirrors collector, this deck is a key piece due to its limited availability and unique design.
- Display vs. use: Choose this deck if you prioritize aesthetics and rarity. Avoid it if you need a deck for regular card handling or performance. Gilded edges and borderless designs show wear quickly with use.
- Budget and availability: At the archived catalog price of $40.12, it's affordable compared to many limited decks. But check the secondary market for current pricing and condition before purchasing. Always verify the seller's reputation and deck condition when buying archived products.
- Completing the set: If you already own other Smoke & Mirrors x Fultons anniversary decks, the Carbon Gilded V6 completes the visual range with its distinct map-inspired borderless pattern.
