Explore the Bucks Dan & Dave Tribute Deck by Fulton's Playing Cards—a nostalgic throwback honoring the Buck twins with vintage-inspired design and limited availability.
Quick answer
The Bucks Dan & Dave Tribute Deck is a nostalgic, limited-run collector's item that pays homage to the Buck twins with vintage-inspired artwork. It's best for fans of the duo or collectors who appreciate retro design, but may not suit those seeking modern handling or standard pricing.
Why this deck stands out
Designed by Brad Fulton and featuring art by Jeff Trish, this deck is a direct tribute to Dan and Dave Buck—widely regarded as pioneers of the custom playing card revolution. The design draws inspiration from a 1990s promotional deck released by Philip Morris for their discount cigarette brand, Bucks, giving it a distinctly retro feel.
The TWIN BUCKS motif on the back design is a clear homage, making this deck a meaningful addition for anyone who followed the Buck brothers' influence on cardistry and card collecting.
What to consider before buying
At a catalog price of USD 11.25 (down from USD 15.00), the deck offers a modest discount, but it's still priced as a specialty collector's item rather than a budget-friendly everyday deck. The vintage-inspired artwork may not appeal to everyone, especially those who prefer modern, minimalist designs.
Because this is a tribute deck with a specific theme, it may not be the best choice for cardists or magicians who prioritize handling over aesthetics. The focus is on collectibility and nostalgia rather than performance.
Decision rules for the Bucks Dan & Dave Tribute Deck
- Are you a collector of Dan & Dave memorabilia?: If yes, this deck is a must-have. It's a direct tribute with artwork by Jeff Trish, designed specifically for the Buck twins' birthday.
- Do you value vintage-inspired design?: The deck's artwork is a throwback to a 90s promotional deck, so it's ideal if you appreciate retro aesthetics and card history.
- Is budget a primary concern?: At USD 11.25, it's discounted from USD 15.00, but still a premium for a themed collectible. If you need an inexpensive deck for regular use, look elsewhere.
- Do you prioritize handling over theme?: This deck is built around nostalgia and collectibility. If you need a deck for cardistry or magic that handles exceptionally, consider a performance-focused deck instead.
